La 16e édition de «Les Pastellistes», exposition internationale sélectionnée par jury, a eu lieu du 4 au 13 novembre 2011 à Montréal. Mon tableau ''Petites fleurs'' s'est mérité le 3è prix ! J'ai eu le plaisir de repartir avec 500$ de matériel pour le pastel ; panneaux, pastels Richeson, dvd, etc. Plutôt agréable de repartir avec un cadeau sous le bras...Il y a toujours un enfant en nous... J'ai également eu l'honneur d'être reçue membre signataire de la Société !

J'ai eu le plaisir de participer au Gala de l'Académie Internationale des Beaux Arts du Québec qui a eu lieu à Montréal , samedi le 23 avril 2011 sous la présidence d'honneur de M.Jean-Pierre Charbonneau ( ex chef de l'Assemblée Nationale du Québec ). J'ai été honorée du titre de "Maître en Beaux Arts" et j'ai reçu le 1er Prix Demos (cette reconnaissance est accordée par le vote du public lors des "finales" d' Artacademie ). Cet évènement revient à tous les 2 ans. En 2009, j'étais nommée Académicienne et je recevais le Grand Prix de l'Académie. Je salue le travail passionné et l'enthousiasme des co-fondateurs Caroline et Paul Bruens .

Vendredi le 5 novembre dernier avait lieu la 15è édition de l'exposition:
LES PASTELLISTES, chez Ogilvy , rue Sherbrooke à Montréal. L'exposition nationale sélectionnée par jury se tiendra jusqu'au 14 novembre 2010. Mon tableau : "VIOLON SAGE" a reçu le 2è prix !
Friday November 5th was the opening of the National Juried Art Show of "LES PASTELLISTES" (Pastel Society of Eastern Canada) at Ogilvy, Montreal. The show will run until November 14th , 2010,with many demonstrations of pastel workshops etc. My artwork,"VIOLON SAGE" has won the 2nd prize ! Quite honored !

J'ai donc l'honneur et le plaisir de travailler à nouveau avec Michel Guimont qui est devenu au fil des ans une figure connue et respectée du milieu des arts au Québec et ce depuis près de 30 ans !

J'ai appris l'heureuse nouvelle à l'effet que mon tableau "Canot Docile" , finaliste lors de l'exposition "INSPIRING FIGURES " au BUTLER INSTITUTE OF AMERICAN ART, avait reçu une MENTION HONORABLE ! L'exposition regroupait plusieurs femmes peintres de réputation. Je n'aurais jamais cru un jour avoir l'honneur de figurer dans une exposition aux côtés de Mary Cassatt et Cécilia Beaux ! L'exposition était initiée par la "Portrait Society of America ". L'exposition durera jusqu'au 31 octobre 2010.

The Portrait Society's Cecilia Beaux Forum, a committee in support of women artists, spent several years developing this exhibit which celebrates American women artists whose innovative portraits and figurative artwork have inspired generations of artists and will certainly continue to do so. Inspiring Figures features a mixed collection of work by historic artists, acclaimed contemporary artists and prize-winning artwork chosen through a national competition. We are privileged to be showing Inspiring Figures at the Butler Institute of American Art, which holds the distinction of being the first museum in the world to focus exclusively on American art. Inspiring Figures has an ecucational focus and is the culmination of the Cecilia Beaux Forum missuion to engage and expand the public's awareness of women artists and women's contributions to the arts, as well as to our nation's history.

Inspiring Figures will be on display at the Butler Institute of American Art September 12-October 31, 2010. We hope you will all join us at the Butler September 12, 2010 for the Opening Reception and Award Ceremony and again throughout the show at the many educational programs.

Mon tableau "EAU QUI DORT", 48" X 60" a remporté trois nouveaux honneurs : Finaliste du concours RayMar Fine Arts Competition, du mois de mai 2010 ainsi que le premier prix, artiste invité, de "Perez Fine Art Galleries, Summer Exhibition 2010. J'ai appris également qu'il était finaliste dans la catégorie "Portraits and Figures" du concours international de peinture du magazine américain "The Artist's Magazine" 2010.

"EAU QUI DORT , 48" x 60" has won 3 awards : Finalist in the RayMar Art Contest, for the month of May and First place, guest artist in the Perez Fine Art Galleries, Summer Exhibition 2010. I recently learned that it was a finalist in the annual Art Competition of "The Artist's magazine, "Portraits and Figures " category, 2010.

International Biennal Art Miniature, opened on June 8th at Centre Augustin Chénier, Ville-Marie , Témiscamingue. It will take place until september 12. My little painting has been selected for the travelling show that will be hosted in December, by The Contemporary Museum of Art Latino-American (MACLA) in La Plata, Argentina.

C'est le 8 juin dernier que s'est déroulée l'inauguration de la 10è Biennale d'Art Miniature ! Internationale de Ville-Marie au Témiscamingue; l'expo se tient au Centre Augustin-Chénier, jusqu'au 12 septembre 2010. My painting : BARQUE EN DÉRIVE, is finalist in the RayMart Fine Art Competition for the month of March 2010. Each month, a professional artist juror selects and critics 12 finalist paintings from the monthly entries. At the end of the 12 months of the competition, a final artist judge chooses the 12 award winners from these 144 monthly finalists.

The judge for March was Eric Rhoads, the owner and Editor-in-Chief of two art magazines: Fine Art Connoisseur and Artist Advocate Magazine. I invite you to read his comments on my painting !

Le dimanche 14 juin 2009, avait lieu l'ouverture officielle et le dévoilement des gagants de l'Internationale d'Art Miniature . Mon petit tableau (c'est le cas de le dire : 3 po. x 4 po.), intitulé "Brigitte" s'est mérité le titre "Mention du Jury". Je suis très touchée de cet honneur, moi qui à toute fin pratique, n'avais jamais tenté l'expérience du miniature... Je serais partante à nouveau ! Le tableau sera exposé jusqu'au 6 septembre à la Galerie Louise Carrier.L'exposition propose 414 œuvres réalisées par 263 artistes professionnels de plus de 27 pays à travers le monde.

Le 2 mai dernier, j’ai eu la surprise et l’honneur de recevoir 3 trophées lors du
Gala de l’Académie Internationale des Beaux-Arts du Québec qui se tenait à
L’auditorium du Musée des Beaux-Arts de Montréal.
En plus d’une intronisation à titre d’"Académicienne", j’ai remporté
le 1er prix : ''Un Futur Idéal’’ ainsi que le ‘’Grand prix de l’Académie’’
qui est "attribué à un artiste pour l'excellence et la qualité exceptionnelle d'une œuvre spécialement reconnue par l'Académie".
Ce dernier prix était assorti d’une bourse de 1000 $ offerte par la galerie Lamoureux-Ritzenhoff de Montréal.
M. Louis Bruens, fondateur de l’Académie m’a présentée en ces termes :

‘’Cette artiste n’a cessé de se distinguer depuis plus de trente ans.
Elle traite de tous les sujets, avec tous les médiums, et semble-t-il, avec une
facilité déconcertante.
Elle joue avec la lumière à la façon des
impressionnistes, ses œuvres sont caractérisées par un réalisme d’atmosphère qui la différencie du genre hyperréaliste.’’

Last May 2, I had the pleasurable surprise to earn three awards and distinctions at the “Gala de l’Académie internationale des Beaux-Arts du Québec” held at the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Montreal.

First I was established as “Académicienne”, then won first prize as “Un futur idéal”. Furthermore, I was awarded the “Grand Prix de l’Académie” which recognizes an artist for the quality of a lifetime body of work. This award came with a 1 000$ grant, courtesy of the Lamoureux-Ritzenhoff Gallery in Montreal.

In handing me these awards, Mr Louis Bruens, founder of the Academy, presented me in these words: “This artist has distinguished herself on a regular basis for more than 30 years. She works with different subjects and mediums and seems to do it with an ease that is humbling to us all. She understands and tames light in a manner close to that of the impressionists, her paintings could be said of “realism of atmosphere”, and this sets her apart from the hyperrealists.
