Last May 2, I had the pleasurable surprise to earn three awards and distinctions at the “Gala de l’Académie internationale des Beaux-Arts du Québec” held at the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Montreal.
First I was established as “Académicienne”, then won first prize as “Un futur idéal”. Furthermore, I was awarded the “Grand Prix de l’Académie” which recognizes an artist for the quality of a lifetime body of work. This award came with a 1 000$ grant, courtesy of the Lamoureux-Ritzenhoff Gallery in Montreal.
In handing me these awards, Mr Louis Bruens, founder of the Academy, presented me in these words: “This artist has distinguished herself on a regular basis for more than 30 years. She works with different subjects and mediums and seems to do it with an ease that is humbling to us all. She understands and tames light in a manner close to that of the impressionists, her paintings could be said of “realism of atmosphere”, and this sets her apart from the hyperrealists.________________________

Bonjour, je suis très sensible à votre art. Il y a un mouvement, une douceur, une sensualité qui se dégage de vos peintures. J'aime comment vous peignez la femme. Seule une femme peut le faire... Amitiés
